Distributed Database Selection
NOTE: During installation of Power Operation(PO), you will have the option to either install a new instance of PostgreSQL database in the same machine as PO or to set up a distributed database architecture where you can establish a connection with a PostgreSQL database running on a different machine. Follow the steps mentioned below if you have selected Distributed option on the Database Selection window.
To set up the Distributed PostgreSQL database:
- Select Distributed option from the Database Selection page, and click Next after you complete the previous installation steps.
- Set up the remote machine for PostgreSQL and click Next. There is a help document under Prerequisites folder that can be referenced for detailed instructions on this step.
- Configure the PO database by entering Password and click Next.
- Enter the IP address of the machine where the PostgreSQL database is installed.
- Click Test Connection to check if connection has been established. A success message confirms that PO can communicate with the remote PostgreSQL database.
- Click Next to go through remaining steps of the PO installation.
The detailed steps are provided in the following topics.
