General Information

Description

The library "PD_MultiBelt" is a collection of technology functions for grouping products using parallel belts. The table below depicts an example for each of the most common use cases.

NOTE: For this library, qualified-access-only is set. This means, that the POUs, data structures, enumerations, and constants have to be accessed using the namespace of the library.

NOTE: Only Controller OnBoard I/O touch probes and drive touch probes are supported by the functionalities of this library. TM5 module touch probes are not supported.

You will find basics for the application and parameterization of the library here.

The key features of this library include:

oControlling several parallel belts - tested for up to four belts

oDefining several stations for loading and unloading products - tested for up tp three stations

oDefining up to 127 compartments per train

oMounting several trains per belt - tested for up to two trains

oFiltering of sensor signals

oPerforming warm start routines

This library has been designed to cover a general range of use cases. If you need further features for your application, please contact your Schneider Electric representative to find an individual solution.

General Considerations and Restrictions

Besides these general considerations and restrictions some features are only available for certain station types. They are described at their respective position within this library guide.

o The servo axis type SercDrive is not supported.

oThe program calling the MultiBelt functionalities must be executed in a cyclical task.

oA warm start routine leads to an unnecessarily long-lasting reference run or to a diagnostic messages, in case one station is located near the end of the belt.

oIn case two stations are located very close compared with the train length the entire system may not move at all.

o The feature xStationLock is not available for any type of station.

oIn certain, rare scenarios trains might move backwards and crash into one another. To avoid this, use the same value for ST_Station.lrTrainsDistances in all stations.

UNINTENDED EQUIPMENT OPERATION

Use the same value for ST_Station.lrTrainsDistances in all stations.

Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage.
