Exception Handling - General Information

Introduction

The main view Exception handling serves for clear representation of the exceptions in the module structure (analogous to the Structure editor).

From the editor Exception handling you can view and define the following:

oExceptions for the MainMachine, for the module groups and for every individual module

oReactions for the MainMachine, for module groups and for every individual module

oGlobal reactions

oGlobal exception list (online, read-only view)

NOTE: In this editor you cannot modify the module structure (shift, add, delete modules, and so on). For this purpose, switch to the Structure editor.

Open the Tab Exception Handling

Double-click the node EDESIGN_Application in the Devices tree under PLC logic.

Result: The Structure editor opens.

Click the tab Exception handling.

Button Global exception list 

Click this button to open the editor Global exception list.

NOTE: In offline, mode this list has no function.

Button Global exception list displayed in red

There is at least one exception or at least one exception and an arbitrary number of warnings.

Button Global exception list displayed in yellow

There is at least one warning.

Button Global reactions

Click this button to open the editor Definition of global reactions.

Button Diag quit

Click this button to acknowledge the pending exceptions and warnings.

After the acknowledgement, the red or yellow buttons/modules/module groups are again displayed in gray if no more exception is pending.

NOTE: In offline, mode this button has no function.

Button Diag quit displayed in red

There is at least one exception or at least one exception and an arbitrary number of warnings.

Button Diag quit displayed in yellow

There is at least one warning.

This bar shows the numbers of the set/active reactions in red.

After the acknowledgement, the numbers of the set/active reactions are shown.

NOTE: In offline, mode this bar has no function.

Button Exceptions

Click this button to open the editor Definition of exceptions for the module/the module group.

Button Reactions

Click this button to open the editor Definition of reactions for the module/the module group.

Modules/module group displayed in red

This module/module group has triggered at least one exception or at least one exception plus an arbitrary number of warnings.

Module/module group displayed in yellow

This module/module group has triggered at least one warning.
