Replacing the Backlight

Introduction

The backlights in the following units can be replaced:

oXBT GT5000 series

oXBT GT6330 RL08 or less

oXBT GT6340 RL07 or less

oXBT GT7340 RL08 or less

Please see the Instruction Sheet that comes with replacement backlights for details on how to replace the backlight. Contact your local distributor for more information.

For units not listed above, the unit must be returned to an authorized Schneider Electric repair center for backlight replacement. When the backlight need to be replaced, please contact your local distributor.

BACKLIGHT AREA IS HOT

oLet the product cool down for 10 minutes before removing the backlight.

oWear gloves to touch the inner components.

Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage.

EXPOSED ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS

oRemove power cords and disconnect all cables, including communication cables, before opening the product.

oDo not open the product for any reason except backlight replacement.

BROKEN BACKLIGHT

oDo not touch the glass directly.

oDisconnect the PCB connector from the board only.

oDo not try to remove the backlight’s PCB connector leads from the backlight.

How to Determine if the Backlight is Burned Out

If your unit's backlight suddenly turns OFF, use the following steps to determine if the backlight is actually burned out:

oIf the unit's Backlight Control is not set and the screen has gone blank, your backlight is burned out.

oIf the unit's Backlight Control is set to standby mode, the screen has gone blank, and touching the screen or performing another input operation does not cause the display to reappear, your backlight is burned out.
