This tab shows the basic communication preferences.
According to the Profinet standard, the PROFINET IOslave device is responsible for the IP settings of the used adapter. It must save remanent IP settings and be able to reset or modify at the request of the controller (IP=0.0.0.0). Initial state (Reset to factory) is with deactivated IP suite (IP=0.0.0.0).
However, if the PROFINET IO device is a programmable logic controller and connected with the (CODESYS) programming environment via one and the same Ethernet adapter, then modifying and resetting the IP address is interruptive (connection interruption between IDE and PLC). Therefore, one of the modes is provided that deviates from the standard (Use project parameters). You must also use this option for Windows and VxWorks systems.

Use remanent data |
The IP settings and the station name of the file are used. The file is stored in the file system. The data is set by the controller and saved to a file by the device. |

Use project parameters |
The IP settings and the station name of the project are used (settings of the Ethernet adapter). This option must be selected for Windows, VxWorks, and WinCE, because changing the IP address is not possible for these systems. |
