Double-click MyController > Counters. Result: Counters editor tab opens for HSC configuration. NOTE: A message appears at the bottom of the configuration screen if the maximum number of HSC Main functions has already been configured. Consider using an HSC Simple function instead. |

In the Counters editor tab, set the value of the Counting function parameter to HSC Main Dual Phase. Result: The configuration parameters appear in the Counters editor tab. |

If necessary, enter the value of the General > Instance name parameter. NOTE: Instance name is automatically given by the software and can be used as it is for the counter function block. |

Set the value of the General > Counting Mode parameter to Free-large. |

Set the value of the General > Input mode parameter to select the input mode. |

In Counting Inputs > A input > Location select the regular or fast input to use as the A input. NOTE: A message is displayed at the bottom of the configuration window if no more I/Os are available for configuration. Free up one or more I/Os before continuing configuration of this function. |

Set the value of the Counting inputs > A input > Bounce filter parameter to reduce the bounce effect on the input. The filtering value determines the counter maximum frequency as shown in the Bounce Filter table. |

In Counting Inputs > B input > Location select the regular or fast input to use as the B input. NOTE: A message is displayed at the bottom of the configuration window if no more I/Os are available for configuration. Free up one or more I/Os before continuing configuration of this function. |
