'Copy Control', 'Cut Control', 'Delete Control' Dialogs
The FBD/LD code editor does not only handle individual objects. It rather considers valid network structures, i.e., logical assemblies of objects. When deleting, cutting or moving objects or connection lines, the editor helps to prevent unnecessary or nonsensical network structures by expanding the selection to be deleted/cut/moved. For that purpose, the following dialogs are available.
'Copy Control' dialog
The 'Copy Control' dialog appears if you are copying several marked objects that do not form a logical assembly and can therefore not be copied. Click 'Show copy' to extend/modify the selection to a valid object assembly which can be copied.
'Cut Control' dialog
The 'Cut Control' dialog appears if you are cutting several marked objects that do not form a logical assembly.
The 'Cut' command performs two operations: the selection is deleted in the worksheet and moved to the clipboard. Depending on the network structure, however, the logical object assembly moved to the clipboard may differ from the assembly deleted in the worksheet because the editor always tries to handle legal structures without unconnected lines. To identify both the selection moved to the clipboard and the selection deleted in the worksheet, the dialog 'Cut Control' appears providing the following buttons:
Dialog button |
Meaning |
Cut |
Cuts the object assembly and moves it to the clipboard. This button is only active if a valid logical assembly of objects (that can be cut) is selected in the worksheet. |
Show cut |
Extends the current selection to show which logical assembly of objects the 'Cut' command would delete in the worksheet. |
Show copy |
Extends the current selection to show which logical assembly of objects the 'Cut' command would move to the clipboard. |
'Delete Control' dialog
The 'Delete Control' dialog appears if you are deleting objects which do not form a logical assembly and can therefore not be deleted. Click 'OK' to extend/modify the selection to a valid object assembly which can be deleted.
