This topic describes how to insert new worksheets into POUs.
Further Information
Refer to the topic "Managing objects in the project tree" for information on copying, pasting, moving, deleting, and renaming worksheets.
NOTE:
EcoStruxure Machine Expert - Safety provides a certification manager for certifying the completed project after successful commissioning. A certified project is protected by password against modifications. (Such modifications would result in a new project acceptance procedure and certification.)
If you can't edit the project although you are logged-on correctly, verify whether the project is already certified. This is indicated in the status bar (rightmost):
Refer to the topic "Project certification" for detailed information.
Execution order of worksheets: If a POU contains several code worksheets, these worksheets are processed during runtime in the same order as they are listed in the POU folder (top-down).
To add a new worksheet to a POU, proceed as follows:
Right-click the POU folder where you want to add a worksheet.
Select 'New Code Worksheet...' or 'New Description' from the context menu.
('New Description' is only available if the POU does not yet contain a description worksheet.)
A description worksheet is inserted without further queries.
For a code worksheet, the 'New Code Worksheet' dialog opens.
Enter a name for the new code worksheet and confirm the 'New Code Worksheet' dialog.
The new code worksheet appears in the project tree. It is marked with an asterisk, thus indicating that this worksheet has not yet been compiled.
Keyboard operation:
Mark the POU folder icon and then press the <INS> key.
In the appearing 'New Object' dialog, enter a worksheet name, select the worksheet type and confirm the 'New Object' dialog.
To rename a worksheet, right-click its icon and select 'Properties...' from the context menu. In the appearing properties dialog you can edit the name.
