Select 'Project > Project information...' to open the 'Project info' dialog.
The dialog is used for entering/displaying important information on the project, such as
project related data (application description, name, created/modified by, etc.),
data of the manufacturer, operating company, and application location,
safety-related verification information,
and a project revision history (also refer to the "How to..." section below).
NOTE:
Fields with a colored header are mandatory and must be filled out by the user each time a new project version is developed. Fields with a gray header are optional. However, you should enter data in all fields, even if they are optional.
The 'Project' area in the 'Project' dialog tab is read-only as these data are polled by EcoStruxure Machine Expert - Safety: name and path of the project, time, date and user of the last project modification as well as diverse CRC checksums (see below) and the logged-on user are displayed. Some of these data can be copied to the clipboard as described in the "How to..." section below.
The data in the 'Check' dialog tab are part of the acceptance test procedure.
Some input fields are displayed inactive. They depend on other fields and become active after entering information into the related field. (Example: 'Project' tab, 'Archival Storage' area: the 'Printout location' field can be filled in after selecting 'Yes' in the 'Printed' field.)
How to ...
Revision history: Transferring relevant data from the 'Project' tab
In the 'History' tab, the button 'Import Project Data', located at the top of each revision section, copies the automatically generated read-only data (CRCs, date/time of last revision, user name) from the 'Project' tab of the dialog into the current revision section.
Once the project-related data has been imported, the button 'Delete Project Data' becomes active to clear the gray fields again.
Copying information from the 'Project' tab to the clipboard
Automatically generated read-only data (such as CRCs, date/time of last logon, last user) which are displayed on a gray background, can be copied to the clipboard for transferring them to other applications.
Left click into the desired gray field and press <Ctrl> + <C>. In the desired target application (text editor, for example) press <Ctrl> + <V> to insert the data.
Copying data this way must be done field by field (no multi-selection).
CRC checksums
EcoStruxure Machine Expert - Safety calculates various checksums for certain parameters or data, such as device parameters or program variables. You can use these checksums to find out if projects differ in their parameters or data. By comparing the checksums that are calculated separately for the various parameter and data groups, you can see immediately which parts of the projects are different.
The following checksums are available:
Checksum |
Covered parameters or data |
Project CRC |
Total checksum covering the other partial checksums listed below. 'n/a' (not applicable) is displayed instead of a numeric CRC if the project has not yet been compiled since the last relevant modification or if the simulation mode is activated. Compile the project with deactivated simulation mode. |
Logic CRC |
Application data such as variables and program code. |
Overall CRC |
All device parameters including commissioning parameters. |
Commissioning parameter CRC |
Commissioning parameters excluding device parameters. |
Parameter CRC |
Device parameters excluding commissioning parameters. |
BusNavigator CRC |
Hardware-specific parameters and data concerning the bus configuration. |
