Understanding Mechanical Calculation Results
The term mechanical calculation in this manual refers to calculating the forces exerted on a mechanical shaft by respecting the following physical quantities:
oSpeed
oTorque
oInertia
These three quantities are key values in determining the suitable size of drive, motor, and gearbox for a given axis. For an introduction to this, refer to the paragraph Detailed Information on Step 6, Selecting A Suitable Combination of Drive, Motor, And Gearbox.
Motion Sizer displays the results of the mechanical calculations:
oIn the Device Selection dialog box.
oIn the Results editor, including the result diagram editors (Torque over Time, Torque over Speed, and Torque over Gearbox factor).
oIn the messages created by these editors.
