Opening and Closing Transparent Communications
Use the Dial and HangUp function blocks to open and close transparent communications between a controller and a remote device. In such a case, a modem is required at each end.
There are three types of managers you can add to a serial line to exchange requests:
oModbus manager
oASCII manager
oMachine Expert network manager
NOTE: An example that uses Dial and HangUp to open a Modbus connection between 2 controllers is included in EcoStruxure Machine Expert's examples. This file (Modem_Modbus.project) is accessible from the Home menu.
