About the Modicon M258 Logic Controller
The Schneider Electric Modicon M258 Logic Controller is a controller with a variety of features.
The Software configuration is described in the EcoStruxure Machine Expert Programming Guide.
The EcoStruxure Machine Expert software supports the following IEC61131-3 programming languages for use with these controllers:
oIL: Instruction List
oLD: Ladder Diagram
oST: Structured Text
oFBD: Function Block Diagram
oSFC: Sequential Function Chart
EcoStruxure Machine Expert software can also be used to program these controllers using CFC (Continuous Function Chart) language.
All controllers support the following fieldbuses and network capabilities:
oCANopen Master
oSerial Line
All controllers support the following functions and I/O types:
oExpert functions (counting, reflex outputs...)
oEmbedded I/Os
All controllers support up to 21 application program tasks with the following limits:
o4 cyclic tasks: one is configured by default (MAST)
o1 freewheeling task
o8 software event driven tasks
o8 hardware event driven tasks
