The analog input module allows converting the output of a 4-wire or 6-wire full-bridge strain gauge to a numeric value.
The full-bridge strain gauge sensor provides an electrical signal that the TM5SEAISG module converts to a raw numerical value.
The raw value is then processed with the use of the StrainGaugeExt function block which provides a calibrated value. The average raw value is calculated with the the measures done by the TM5SEAISG module during a define number of task cycles (see TM5 IoDrvTM5SEAISG Strain Gauge Library Guide).
If a 6-wire strain gauge cell is connected, the line compensation no longer functions. This module concept requires compensation in the measurement system. This compensation removes the uncertainty in the measurement circuit, such as component tolerances, effective bridge voltage, or zero offset. The measurement precision refers to the absolute (compensated) value, which will only change as a result of changes in the operating temperature.
The module (24 Vdc) has an input with a 24-bit digital converter resolution.

In order to parameterize a module per PLC Configuration in the device editor, proceed as follows:
Step |
Action |
---|---|
1 |
Append module in the TM5NS31). beneath a Sercos III bus interface ( |
2 |
Afterwards double-click the module in the .Result: The device editor is opened and the tabs , , and are displayed. |
The input and output channels of the module are displayed on project variables that are used by the application.
