Configuring Log Messages

Overview

The SQL Gateway allows you to log the activities that are executed on your SQL database. The logged activities are displayed in the Log Messages tab and can be saved to a file.

You can adapt this function to your individual requirements: From deactivating information messages to filtering the content of the log according to different criteria. These options are described in this chapter.

NOTE: When you configure log messages, have in mind that the memory space required by the logging function is dependent on the number and size of the logged SQL activities.

Activating / Deactivating Information Messages

To activate information messages, select the option Record Info Messages in the tab Settings > Log Messages.

Result: Information messages are added to the logged activities displayed in the Log Messages tab.

To deactivate information messages, deselect the option Record Info Messages in the tab Settings > Log Messages.

Result: Information messages are not displayed in the Log Messages tab.

Including SQL Commands in Log Messages

To add the SQL commands exchanged between the database and the controller via the SQL Gateway to the Log Messages list, select the option Record SQL Commands in the tab Settings > Log Messages. This is the default setting.

Result: The SQL commands are displayed in the column SQL Command of the table in the Log Messages tab.

To avoid logging SQL commands, deselect the option Record SQL Commands in the tab Settings > Log Messages.

Result: The column SQL Command of the table in the Log Messages tab is empty.

Configuring the Content of the Log Messages Tab

The SQL Gateway allows you to filter the logged activities that are displayed in the Log Messages tab according to the following filter criteria:
