EtherCAT - PROFIBUS DP Master Terminal EL6731

CODESYS supports the EL6731 device from Beckhoff. This device establishes a gateway from EtherCAT to the PROFIBUS DP master. You insert the gateway below the EtherCAT EK1100 coupler. Then you can configure it like a typical EtherCAT slave.

When you insert the gateway, a PROFIBUS DP master node (EL6731-PB Master) is inserted automatically. This PROFIBUS DP master behaves like a standard PROFIBUS DP master.

Below the PROFIBUS DP master, insert the PROFIBUS DP slaves and modules that you have installed to the device repository by means of GSD import. In the editor dialogs, you can set the typical PROFIBUS DP parameters and I/O channels.

You can use the Scan for Devices command, which is available for the EL6731_PB device, to automatically insert PROFIBUS DP devices below the PROFIBUS DP master in the device tree.
