Using Latch Variables to Extend Alarm Messages

When you define one or more alarm messages as Message <n> for an alarm in the alarm group editor, you can also let the value of the latch variable of the alarm be specified in these messages . To do this, insert a corresponding placeholder <LATCH1>, <LATCH2> in the message text and more if necessary. As a result, in the alarm message the operator also gets the additional information which is written in the latch variables when the alarm becomes active. For example, this can be an error ID or a measurement value at the time when the alarm becomes active.

For more information, see the help page about configure an alarm in the alarm group.

TIP:

You can configure the alarm visualization so that in online mode the user can filter the alarms by the contents of a latch variable value.
