Serial communication settings

Parameter Values Description
COM1/COM4 (RS-485)

Protocol

ION, Modbus RTU, Modbus Master, DNP V3.00, DLMS, EtherGate, GPS:TrueTime/Datum, GPS:Arbiter, GPS:Arbiter-Vorne, Factory, None Sets the communication protocol used by the RS-485 port.
Unit ID 1-9999 Sets the device’s unique ID on the RS-485 network.
Baud Rate 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200 Sets the data rate in bits per second.
Transmission Timeout 0.1–15 Sets how long (in seconds) the device will wait for communication acknowledgments before it stops the transmission.
Serial Port 8N1, 8N2, 8E1, 8E2,8O1, 8O2 Sets the parity and stop bits. For example, 8N1: 8 data bits, no parity bit, and 1 stop bit.
RS485 Bias ON, OFF

Set the RS-485 bias to:

  • ON when the device acts as a client.
  • OFF when the device acts as a server.
Ethergate Port 1–65535 Sets the port number for accessing the device over a serial network.
COM2 Infrared
