Import/Upload Summary

Associated with: SCADAPack x70 Device Configuration items.

The Import/Upload Summary status attribute provides a summary of the latest import of a configuration file from RemoteConnect, or upload of the configuration from a SCADAPack x70 device.

There are three different stages of an import/upload transaction. The Import/Upload Summary status attribute displays different values at each stage:

• Stage 1: Transaction Queued

  When the import/upload transaction is queued, the status attribute displays the following value:

  SCADAPack x70 import configuration transaction queued at <date> <time>, Waiting

• Stage 2: Transaction in Progress

  This stage of the transaction progresses in three phases. They are:

  • Updating the database items, when the following information is displayed:

    SCADAPack x70 import configuration transaction queued at <date> <time>, Processing... Updating

  • Marking for possible deletion any redundant database items. This comprises setting database items for which no match is found in the imported/uploaded configuration as Out of Service. The following information is displayed:

    SCADAPack x70 import configuration transaction queued at <date> <time>, Processing... Deleting

  • Finalizing the transaction, when the following information is displayed:

    SCADAPack x70 import configuration transaction queued at <date> <time>, Processing... Finalizing

  The actual activities that occur during this stage of an import/upload vary depending on:

  • The selected Mode
  • The differences between the configuration that is being imported/uploaded and any existing database items associated with the SCADAPack x70 device.

• Stage 3: Transaction Completed

  When the import/upload is completed, the status attribute displays the following value:

  SCADAPack x70 import configuration transaction queued at <date> <time> completed

  If an import or upload succeeds with warnings, or if Geo SCADA Expert is unable to import or upload configuration for a SCADAPack x70 device, a configuration report is created (see Configuration Reports for SCADAPack x70 Devices).

Use this status attribute alongside the Import/Upload Status status attribute to monitor the progress of an import/upload transaction.
