You can configure a ViewX client to launch on a Multi-Monitor setup with specific interface components displayed on each monitor. By associating a Window Container with a particular monitor, you can manage the content the monitor displays.
You use a Startup Configuration File to define how many Window Containers are required by a Multi-Monitor setup, and the content that each displays (see XML Elements).
You can also use the Startup Configuration File to:
- Launch a Window Container in Full Screen Mode
- Launch the Alarm Banner in Fill Container Mode
- Specify the Maximum Number of Windows for a Multi-Monitor Setup.
NOTICE
unexpected behavior OF APPLICATION
Startup Configuration files are intended only for use on ViewX clients that are required to launch Geo SCADA Expert on a Multi-Monitor setup, and/or have customized Window Container behavior.
Do not use Startup Configuration files on Virtual ViewX clients, as these clients only support a single monitor setup, and do not support the same customized behavior. Using a Startup Configuration file on such a client could result in unexpected behavior.
(Startup Configuration files are not supported, and are ignored, on Original WebX clients.)
Failure to follow these instructions can result in inoperable equipment.
