This section and associated topics apply to the Original WebX client only. Geo SCADA Expert 2025 will be the last version of the product to support and include the deprecated Original WebX client. For web client support, please use Virtual ViewX clients instead of Original WebX clients.
Geo SCADA Expert supports remote access via Original WebX clients. Original WebX clients are client PCs that run the WebX application supplied by Schneider Electric. This type of client provides remote access to your system by connecting, via Internet or Intranet, to a web server that is installed on the Geo SCADA Expert server.
You can use Original WebX clients at any location where secure network access is provided and are easy to set up.
However, there are some limitations with Original WebX clients:
- For security reasons, you cannot use Original WebX clients to perform configuration tasks.
- Original WebX clients can place a high demand on network resources as their ActiveX Controls poll the Geo SCADA Expert server for data continuously.
You need to create User accounts for each Original WebX user via ViewX.
