Operational Limitations in the Sparkplug Driver

Sparkplug birth messages contain a record of every point or metric in a Sparkplug Edge Node or device. Whenever there is a change in the configuration of a point, the broker receives a birth message from the node or device that references the point. We recommend that you follow these operational limits:

• The number of points in a single node or device should not exceed 5,000. Exceeding this limit could adversely affect system performance.

• You should distribute points between a node and one or more devices, instead of including all points in a single node or device.
