Create and Configure a Python Program Item

For each Python program that the Geo SCADA Expert server is to execute, you have to create and configure a Python Program item in the database. Geo SCADA Expert uses the Python Program item to store the Python code that you create for that particular Python program.

The topics in this section of the guide explain how to create and configure a Python Program item. For more information, see the topics that are listed in the gray footer section at the bottom of this topic. Select the relevant entry to display the topic that you require.

You only need to create a Python Program item in the database if you want Geo SCADA Expert to execute that program. You do not require a Python Program item for any Python programs that you store and execute outside of the Geo SCADA Expert database. This includes Python programs that you use outside of Geo SCADA Expert to interact with the Geo SCADA Expert database.
