Configure a Modbus Point Scanner

If you opt to configure Modbus Point Scanners manually (see Configure Modbus Point Scanners Settings), you have to create a separate database item for each Modbus Point Scanner that is associated with a Modbus Server Device item. When you have created a SCADAPack x70 Modbus Point Scanner item, use the Modbus tab to configure the scanner configuration.

Instead of manually creating the Modbus Point Scanners, you can have Geo SCADA Expert automatically create them. It does this based on the Modbus register that each associated point is mapped onto, when exporting or downloading the configuration. For more information, see Configure Modbus Point Scanners Settings.

When automatically creating Modbus point scanners no SCADAPack x70 Modbus Point Scanner items are created for the Modbus server device as the points are mapped directly onto the Modbus device.
