RS485 2 Wire

RS485 2 Wire communications are primarily used for half-duplex multidrop serial DNP3 communications, but can also be used for the Port Functions listed below.

• DNP3
• COM User (Function Block)
• Terminal Server
• Modbus
• Edge (This latter Port Function is only available on SCADAPack 47xi Devices.)
• HART.

With RS484 2-wire communications, no hardware handshaking is required or supported.

When this Port Mode is selected, you can specify a Response Delay (see Configure Serial Multidrop Settings).
