Define the Duration to Wait for the Primary Host Application to Come Online

The Form of a Sparkplug Publisher Broker includes a Sparkplug Broker tab. Use this field on the tab to configure the Wait for Online Primary App duration:

• Wait for Online Primary App—Define the duration (in minutes) for which the Sparkplug Publisher driver is to wait for the Sparkplug client to connect to the MQTT broker. During this time, metric updates from the Sparkplug Publisher are queued and no alarms are raised in the Sparkplug Publisher driver. The updates are delivered to the Sparkplug client after it connects to the broker. If the Sparkplug client does not connect to the broker within the defined duration, the absence of an online primary Sparkplug host application results in an alarm. Enter the required interval in the OPC Time Format. You can enter the value directly in the field, or use the Interval window (accessed via the field's browse button) to specify the required value. The default duration is 5 minutes.
