Operational Limitations in the Sparkplug Publisher Driver

Sparkplug data messages contain a record of every point in a Sparkplug Edge Node or device that publishes historic data to the broker. New Sparkplug data messages are generated whenever point historian data changes. We recommend that you follow these operational limits:

• The number of historic point data updates in a single node or device should not exceed 2,000 per minute.

• The total number of historic point data updates should not exceed 10,000 per minute.

Exceeding the above limits could adversely affect system performance.
