Specify the Promoted Sparkplug Quality of Service

The Form of a Sparkplug Publisher Broker includes a Sparkplug Broker tab. Use this drop down menu on the tab to specify the Promoted Sparkplug QoS (Quality of Service):

  • Promoted Sparkplug QoS—The Quality of Service (QoS) defines the level of assurance of a message being successfully delivered from the Sparkplug Publisher driver to the Sparkplug client. For more information about the different QoS levels, refer to the MQTT specification that is maintained by the OASIS MQTT Technical Committee.

QoS 0 'At Most Once' is the default QoS level that is used by Sparkplug-compliant applications. We recommend that you select this default level as the Promoted Sparkplug QoS. The Promoted Sparkplug QoS that you select represents the minimum QoS level of all the messages that are published by the Sparkplug Publisher driver. If you change the Promoted Sparkplug QoS level, the QoS level for messages that have been published with a lower level are changed to the selected QoS level.
