Core components selection
The installer provides a list of options to help you select the appropriate components during installation. The options are described here.
Client Runtime
Selects Client Runtime, Deployment Client, and OPC UA Server drivers (optional) for installation. It is an installation that installs the runtime components for a client. This installation includes Aveva runtime client only installer, EcoStruxure™Power Operation Notification DLL, and License module.
Select this option if this is an installation of Power Operation that will act as a client.
Server Runtime
Selects Server Runtime, Deployment Client, and OPC UA Server drivers (optional) for installation. It is an installation that installs the Aveva runtime server. It also includes the following components: Legacy AOL, App Configuration utility, Waveform Extractor, Core Services, Web Services, Postgres, WebHMI, Legacy Web applications, Event Notification, Power Operation Licese Configuration tool, and the License module.
Select this option if this is an installation of Power Operation that will act as a server to service many client installations, but you do not want to include software for configuring and developing projects.
Configuration and Development Environment
Installs the design-time configuration environment, in addition to the Power Operation Runtime components necessary for either a Client or Server. These items include: Deployment Client, OPC UA Server drivers (optional), Legacy AOL, App Configuration Utility, Waveform Extractor, Core Services, Web Services, Postgres, WebHMI, Legacy web applications, Event Notification, Power Operation License Configuration tool, and the license module.
The configuration tools installed by this option include: Power Operation Studio, Graphics Editor, Template Editor, TGML Update utility, IO Device Manager, Rapid Deployment wizard, and Power Operation Migration tool.
Users who have sufficient security privileges can select add-on components, such as Power Operation Profile Editor and Power Operation EWS Server.
Select this option if this is an installation of Power Operation that will act as a server to service many client installations, and you want to include the tools for developing and configuring Power Operation projects.
Deployment Client
Installs the Deployment Client component, which allows projects to be deployed to this machine remotely. This option is selected automatically if you select the Client Runtime, Server Runtime, or OPC UA Server option.
Deployment Server
Installs the Deployment Server component, which allows projects to be administered, versioned, and deployed to other remote Deployment Client machines from this machine. The server can roll out project changes to the various computers in your project. This option is disabled if you select the Client Runtime or Server Runtime option.
OPC UA Server
Installs the OPC UA server component on the same machine as Power Operation. Deployment Client installation is mandatory for OPC UA Server. It is installed and hosted on the Power Operation Server. This enables the Power Operation system to send and receive data from a third-party application via OPC UA.
