LVCS overview

The Low Voltage Current Sensor (LVCS) hardware option is used with external low voltage current transformers to sense current in each phase of a power feed. Use the LVCS option to:

  • Measure and monitor individual phases.
  • Help reduce installation costs for new or retrofitted installations.
  • Provide non-intrusive load monitoring.

LVCS only works with voltage output Low-Power Current Transformers (LPCTs) and is intended for use with listed Energy-Monitoring current transformers rated for the application. To use LVCS, an ION9000 LVCS meter is required. See ION9000 meter models and accessories for a list of meters that support LVCS.
