Standard alarm settings

Parameter Values Description
Evaluation Mode (Relative setpoint alarms only) Value, Percentage

Sets how the Pickup and Dropout are interpreted:

  • Value: Interpret Pickup and Dropout as values relative to the Nominal.
  • Percentage: Interpret Pickup and Dropout as a percentage of the Nominal value.

For example, assume Nominal is linked to the system frequency which has a value of 60 Hz. Pickup and Dropout are set to 5. If you set Evaluation Mode to Value, the Pickup threshold will be 65 Hz and the Dropout threshold will be 55 Hz. If you set Evaluation Mode to Percentage, the Pickup will be 63 Hz and the Dropout will be 57 Hz.

Nominal (Relative setpoint alarms only) Linked source The reference value for a relative alarm.
Pickup

Relative setpoint alarms: 0–1000000000

Setpoint alarms: -1000000000–1000000000

Sets the threshold that the source value must exceed to activate an alarm.

Delay (Pickup) 0–3600

Sets how long the source must be above the Pickup threshold before the alarm activates.

Dropout

Relative alarms: 0–1000000000

Setpoint alarms: -1000000000–1000000000

Sets the threshold that the source value must fall below to deactivate an alarm.

Delay (Dropout) 0–3600

Sets how long the source must be below the Dropout threshold before the alarm deactivates.

Alarm Priority None, Info Only, Low, Medium, High Select the priority that you want to associate with the alarm. To stop an alarm from being displayed but keep a record of the event, set the alarm priority to Info Only.
Custom Enabled (1–255), Disabled

Turn on Custom to define a specific alarm priority value.

The available Custom priority value range depends on the Alarm Priority:

  • None: Custom is not available.
  • Info Only: 1–63
  • Low: 64–127
  • Medium: 128–191
  • High: 192–255
