Migrate to Automatic Modbus Point Scanner Creation

You can speed up and simplify the process of migrating an existing database containing manually configured Modbus Point Scanners to automatically created Modbus point scanners.

To migrate a SCADAPack x70 device with manually configured Modbus Point Scanners:

  1. Use the Export to RemoteConnect pick action on the SCADAPack x70 device to export the device's configuration to a .RTZ file.
  2. Use the Display Modbus Server Devices pick action to find the Modbus Server Devices in the database.
  3. Enable the Create Automatically check box on all the device's Modbus Server Devices.
  4. Use the Display Modbus Point Scanners pick action to find the redundant scanners, and delete them.
  5. Use the Import from RemoteConnect pick action on the SCADAPack x70 Device Configuration Items to import the .RTZ file created in step 1.

    This will automatically reconfigure all the Modbus mappings on the SCADAPack x70 Configuration Items.

  6. Repeat step 1 to step 5 for each SCADAPack x70 Device Configuration Item.
