Port Function - HART
This port is used for HART communications. The port can connect to an MTL4851 multiplexer to read data from multiple HART instruments. It can read up to four HART variables, the HART identifier, and the manufacturer ID. It can also store data in the SCADAPack x70 database and perform HART-specific activities such as upgrading firmware, setting a range of parameters, or calibration using a pass-through mechanism.
Only one serial port can be used for HART operation.
Use the combo box to specify the mode in which a port is operating. The option available for the HART port function is:
Use the combo box to specify the baud rate used for transferring data via the port. The HART port function supports only a subset of baud rates:
-
1200
-
9600
-
19200
-
38400
Use the combo box to specify the number of data bits used to transmit each byte of data and the parity. The options comprise:
- 8-bit No Parity
- 8-bit Even Parity
- 8-bit Odd Parity
