Information needed for the project

Where we are in the process

At this point we are at the very beginning og phase 2. The contract have been signed and we can now start the project with the customer. We begin by gathering the needed information for the project, which should be information the customer have at hand. This includes:

Information transfer from the customer

  • Functional Design Specification (FDS)

The FDS is the first and most important part to get the puzzle going. With the FDS we can a clear idea of what the purpose of the assembly line is and how it is done.

  • Layout

When we know what is being made and how, we want a more detailed layout of the facility.

  • PackML

If the facility uses PackML, we would like that information as well as it will be relevant for the construction of the project.

  • List of Components

Most essential to the early work is a list of components. This will usually be either mechanical components (machines, conveyors, pushers etc.) or electrical components (motors, sensors etc.). When we have the list we can figure out what components already are ready available in the SE standard catalog or 3rd party, and what components needs to be added for this model.

  • Design criteria

If there are any specific design criteria to the model the customer wants we discuss them at this point. For example, could this be specification like the capacity pr. hour of the facility.

  • Test specification

Lastly we gather any test specification like….

After the information transfer

When we feel that we have received most the information we need, we start the main process of getting the EcoStruxure Machine Expert Twin model ready for the customer. We have written about this step HERE.
