LED energy pulsing settings

LED energy pulsing settings

Parameter Values Description
Source Linked register The measured value that you want to pulse the LED when Kt is reached. Source must be in units of kW.
Enable Linked register

Linking this parameter enables or disables LED pulsing depending on the state of the linked register. Linking Enable is optional. LED energy pulsing is enabled by default when Enable is unlinked.

Note: Configuring this setting should only be performed by users with advanced knowledge of ION, the device template, and the power system the device is connected to.

Int Mode Net, Forward, Reverse, Absolute

Sets the integration mode:

  • Net: calculates the difference between imported and exported energy; the resulting energy after negative Source values are combined with positive Source values.
  • Forward: use for imported energy; only positive Source values are considered for LED pulsing.
  • Reverse: use for exported energy; only negative Source values are considered for LED pulsing.
  • Absolute: calculates the absolute value of imported and exported energy; both positive and negative Source values are considered positive and added for LED pulsing.
Kt 0.01–1000000000

Specifies how many energy units in Wh, VARh or VAh are accumulated before pulsing the LED (pulse weight). For example, for Wh Del, Kt would be the amount of real energy delivered (Wh Del) per pulse.

For more information on how to calculate Kt, see Calculating the pulse weight (Kt).

Pulse Width 0.01–1.0

The minimum time (in seconds) between LED pulse transitions.

Pulser Mode Always, Test Only

Sets the energy pulsing LED behavior:

  • Always: LED pulsing is always active.
  • Test Only: LED pulsing is only active when the device is in test mode.

Note: For devices that cannot be put into test mode, setting Pulser Mode to Test Only disables the LEDs.

Pulse Overload Read-only

Feedback on the state of the LED configured for energy pulsing.

Pulse Overload has three states:

  • Pulsing normally: the LED should be functioning.
  • Pulsing suspended: the LED is pulsing too quickly. Reduce the Pulse Width or increase Kt to decrease the frequency of the energy pulses.
  • Not connected: connect to the device to read the Pulse Overload state.
