Configure the Server Settings for the AVEVA Historic Data Export Driver
Some driver-specific settings need configuring on the server by a system administrator when a system is first installed. These settings are configured using the Geo SCADA Expert Server Configuration tool. For information on accessing the Geo SCADA Expert Server Configuration tool, see Configuring Advanced Driver Server Settings in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers.
The topics in this section explain the properties on the AVEVA Historic Data Export section of the tool.
When the AVEVA Historic Data Export driver is installed on a Geo SCADA Expert system, a system administrator should:
- Specify a Folder for the HCAL Store-and-Forward Cache.
- Specify the Server Settings for the AVEVA Adapter for Historic Data Export.
(You only need to perform this step if the AVEVA Historic Data Export driver in Geo SCADA Expert is to export historic data to AVEVA PI Server or CONNECT data services. In which case, Geo SCADA Expert uses the AVEVA Adapter for Historic Data Export to connect to the historian application (see Specify the Connection Mode).)
- Specify the Connection Parameters for AVEVA PI Server or CONNECT data services.

- Apply the changes to the server.
- If the server is currently running as the main server, restart the driver for the changes to take effect.NOTICE
LOSS OF DATA
If you change the store-and-forward folder while the cache contains data, then this data will be lost. This will occur unless you move the existing folder to the new location while Geo SCADA Expert is shutdown. For this reason, we recommend that you specify the store-and-forward cache folder before you start to export data.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in loss of data. - Repeat the procedure for each server on the system, other than Permanent Standby servers.
