Specify the Connection Mode

The AVEVA Historic Data Export tab includes a Connection Mode combo box. Use the combo box to specify how Geo SCADA Expert connects to the historian application to which you want to export point data.

Choose from:

• Direct—Geo SCADA Expert connects directly to the historian application. When this option is selected, the fields in the Direction Connection section of the tab become available for use.
• Via Adapter—This is the default option. Select this option if you want Geo SCADA Expert to export historic data to AVEVA PI Server or CONNECT data services. To facilitate this, Geo SCADA Expert uses the AVEVA Adapter for Historic Data Export to connect to the historian application. When this option is selected, the fields in the Connection Via Adapter section of the tab become available for use.

  To use this option, the AVEVA Adapter for Historic Data Export prerequisite has to be installed and configured on your Geo SCADA Expert server machines (see Install the AVEVA Adapter for Historic Data Export). You also have to install the AVEVA Operations Control Logger and the Microsoft .NET 8 prerequisites.

In addition to the connection-specific section of properties, also configure the properties in the other sections of the AVEVA Historic Data Export tab. For more information, see the topics that are listed in the gray footer section at the bottom of this topic. Select the relevant entry to display the topic that you require.
