Action |
---|---|
1 |
Install the protective cover of the drive magnets by sliding it onto the magnets if it is not already installed. Refer to Removing the Protective Cover of the Drive Magnets.
NOTE: The rollers are available in two versions:
|
2 |
To replace the rollers, the rotatable arms have to be dismounted: remove the cover plate at the top and the bottom of the Heavy-Duty carrier by loosening the six screws at each plate. |
3 |
Under the cover plates you can find the head of the hex bolt which holds the rotatable arms. Unscrew the four hex bolts to dismount the rotatable arms and the distance ring. |
4 |
The rollers are mounted to the rotatable arms: loosen the nuts and dismount the rotatable arms. |
5 |
Replace the rollers. Repeat the procedure for the four rotatable arms. |
6 |
Place the wedge-lock washers under the nuts and tighten the nuts with 5 Nm (44.3 lbf-in). |
7 |
Verify the lubrication pads of the Heavy-Duty carriers for wear and replace them if necessary. Refer to Replacing the Lubrication Pads of a Lexium™ MC12 Heavy-Duty Carrier. |
8 |
Place the rotatable arms in position and make sure that both bearings, with the distance ring in between, are mounted. After that push through the hex bolt.
NOTE: Apply a thin layer of medium strength threadlocker on the thread of the bolt.
|
9 |
Tighten the hex bolt in the thread of the rotatable arm with 5 Nm (44.25 lbf-in). |
10 |
Place the cover plates at the top and the bottom of the Heavy-Duty carrier and mount them with their six screws. Tighten the screws with 2.5 Nm (22.1 lbf-in). |
