Configuring GPS time synchronization

Prerequisites:

• Open the device table of contents
• Connect to your device
• Configuring a serial port for GPS time synchronization

To configure GPS time synchronization:

1. Select Basic Setup > Clock > Date and Time.
2. Go to Time Synchronization.
3. Set the Time Synchronization Type Specifies the time format of incoming time sync messages. to UTC.

   Note: Set Time Synchronization Type to LOCAL if time sync signals are received in local time.

4. Set the Time Synchronization Source to COM1 (or COM4).
5. Set the Clock Source to COMM.
6. Under Use Clock Source Quality Flag Use Flag: the device will only accept time syncs if the quality character value is true. Ignore Flag: the device will accept time syncs regardless of the quality character value. , select whether to use or ignore the quality flag.
7. Select Save Working Copy.
8. Synchronize changes.
