Configuring PTP time synchronization

Prerequisites:

• Open the device table of contents
• Connect to your device

To configure PTP time synchronization:

1. Select Basic Setup > Clock > Date and Time.
2. Go to Time Synchronization.
3. Set the Time Synchronization Type Specifies the time format of incoming time sync messages. to UTC.
4. Set the Time Synchronization Source to ETHERNET - PTP.

   Note: This automatically sets the Clock Source to COMM.

5. Enter the Event Logging Threshold Specifies the minimum time difference (in seconds) for a synchronization message to be logged as an event. The range is 0.000001–1 s..
6. Select your PTP Domain Number A PTP domain separates a group of clocks from the rest of the network..
7. Under Use Clock Source Quality Flag Use Flag: the device will only accept time syncs if the quality character value is true. Ignore Flag: the device will accept time syncs regardless of the quality character value. , choose if you want to use or ignore the quality flag.
8. Select Save Working Copy.
9. Synchronize changes.
