Configure a Sparkplug Publisher Item

A Sparkplug Publisher publishes historic Sparkplug Edge Node or device data to a broker. There is a one-to-one connection between a Sparkplug Publisher and a broker.

You configure the properties of each Sparkplug Publisher using the fields on the Sparkplug Publisher configuration Form. The Form has several tabs, some of which contain properties that are common to many database items, and others that contain properties that are specific to a Sparkplug Publisher.

(With the Sparkplug Publisher driver, to create an item in the database, you expand the Historic Export branch of the Create New menu. You then select the required type of database item from the Sparkplug Publisher menu within that branch (see Add an Item to the Database).)

A Sparkplug Publisher can publish historic data of points on any driver in Geo SCADA Expert, provided that those points support and are configured to store data historically in the database. To associate a point with the Sparkplug Publisher, enable Historic on configuration Form of the point (see Defining Historic Details for a Point), and add the Sparkplug Publisher database item to the Historic Exports field (see Define the Historic Export Details).
