Configure a Sparkplug Publisher Property Translation Table

You can optionally use a Property Translation Table if you intend to create and configure points automatically on the Sparkplug client, based on the points that exist in the Geo SCADA Expert database.

You use the Property Translation Table to store information about the point configuration properties that are to differ from the default values on the client. The associated Sparkplug Publisher will then transmit information about those properties in the birth messages that it sends to the client. The information includes the values of those configuration properties as they exist in the Geo SCADA Expert database. This is useful if you want to use that information as a basis for configuring the points on the client, so that their configuration values match those of the points in the Geo SCADA Expert database.

You create the content for the Property Translation Table outside of Geo SCADA Expert (see Create the Content for a Property Translation Table). You then import the content into a Sparkplug Publisher Property Translation Table database item using the Import Property Translation Table pick action.

Each Sparkplug Publisher item can reference only one Sparkplug Publisher Property Translation Table item. You create a Sparkplug Publisher Property Translation Table item in the database for each Property Translation Table file that you want to store and use in Geo SCADA Expert. The configuration Form of the Sparkplug Publisher Property Translation Table includes several tabs. The properties on the tabs are common to many database items. For information about the tabs, see Tabs that are Common to Many Configuration Forms.

(With the Sparkplug Publisher driver, to create an item in the database, you expand the Historic Export branch of the Create New menu. You then select the required type of database item from the Sparkplug Publisher menu within that branch (see Add an Item to the Database).)
