Legacy and advanced security support

Use legacy security support to allow older applications to communicate with devices that have advanced security turned on. When advanced security is turned on, all applications that interact with the device must specify a username and password.

COMMUNICATION LOSS

Update the settings of applications that communicate with the device when changing security or credential settings.

Failure to follow these instructions can result in a loss of communication.

Note: By default, on new ION devices, advanced security is turned on. Using PowerLogic Engineering Suite, you can change a device with older firmware from standard to advanced security. You cannot change a device from advanced to standard security.
